Kitchen Remodelers in Belvidere, IL

For a town of about 24,752 residents, Belvidere draws its 26 kitchen remodelers from two directions. Three are in Boone County. C & H Design Center is a family owned showroom in Belvidere with over 20 years behind it (4.6 from 27 reviews). Beyer Builders Inc. is an owner operated remodeling and maintenance company with more than 30 years in the building trade (5.0 from 12 reviews). Construction Specialties completes the Boone County group (4.5 from 8 reviews). Most of the others are based around Rockford and name Belvidere among the towns they work in.

That Rockford pull decides who a Belvidere homeowner can realistically call. Premier General Contractor works in Rockford, Belvidere and Freeport and has done so since 2002 (4.8 from 57 reviews). Handyman Connection of Rockford covers Belvidere, Machesney Park, Loves Park, Cherry Valley and Caledonia, and its carpentry includes cabinet installation and replacement (4.6 from 63 reviews). Macktown Construction Group is a veteran-owned, family-run design-build remodeler whose territory runs across Rockford, Winnebago, Boone, Rock and Walworth counties (4.6 from 61 reviews).

The houses here lean old. Half of Belvidere's housing units were built in or before 1976, and more than half were built before 1980. A kitchen in a house of that age can mean opening a wall or moving the layout, and Beyer Builders, Macktown, Rockford Remodeling LLC and Construction Specialties all describe that kind of work.

Age also brings the lead question. Homes built before 1978 fall under the EPA lead-safe renovation rule, which requires anyone paid to do work that disturbs painted surfaces in those homes to be certified, with employees trained in lead-safe work practices. Because over half of the town's housing predates 1980, many Belvidere kitchens are in houses old enough that the question is worth putting to any contractor before demolition begins.

Kitchen work usually reaches the plumbing, and Turner Plumbing in Genoa is a family-owned residential plumber that also remodels kitchens and bathrooms (5.0 from 143 reviews). It works in Rockford, Stillman Valley, Byron and nearby towns. Illinois requires plumbing work to be done by plumbers licensed through the Illinois Department of Public Health, which is worth remembering whenever a remodeler brings plumbing into the scope. Tom Karsten Construction in Marengo takes on kitchen remodels, countertops and tile, with 3 reviews at 5.0.

For countertops and cabinets on their own, Benson Stone Company in Rockford fabricates and installs granite and quartz (4.7 from 434 reviews), 815 Stone Crafters works in countertops (4.8 from 24 reviews), and Forest City Counter Tops in Loves Park has built countertops and cabinets since 1970 (4.9 from 9 reviews). Two Roscoe businesses are here too. River Valley Kitchens & Baths designs, builds and installs kitchens (3.7 from 15 reviews), and Design Elements works in tile, design and bathrooms (5.0 from 40 reviews).

Loves Park, Rockford, Machesney Park, Sycamore and Woodstock each have their own page, which helps if the first call does not turn up a good fit for a Belvidere job.
